Breastfeeding Counselling

Support

A Breastfeeding Counsellor supports mothers, fathers, grandparents, and anyone else involved with an infant’s feeding journey. There are a number of ways to access breastfeeding support and we are particularly lucky here in Weston- super-Mare! Locally we have Breastfeeding Support Weston, which is a group funded by North Somerset Council and run by breastfeeding peer supporters. You can attend this group in different Children’s Centres throughout the week, join the Facebook group, and access specialist support through referral by a peer supporter. Below is a link to request to join the online group, which is full of other breastfeeding mums and peer supporters to listen and support you. Nationally you can access support through hotlines run by the NCT, ABM and Breastfeeding Network and details of how to do that can be found online. All this support is available free of charge. I volunteer independently as a Breastfeeding Counsellor in my free time, working around my children, via phone calls and home visits where possible. Please phone and leave a message or write to my Facebook page or email address, details are in the Contact section of this website. I also volunteer as a peer supporter at the Breastfeeding Support Weston Central group that runs on a Tuesday.
“Jennie is amazing! She is so knowledgeable and easy to get along with. She supported me so well to overcome barriers and establish breastfeeding with my son. I would highly recommend her!” ~ Stacey, Weston-super-Mare
“Being a first time mum & having a difficult start to my breastfeeding journey I had a million questions I needed answers to! Jennie made me feel much better about it, answered all my questions(even the stupid ones!) and gave me amazing advice. Definitely made me see things in a different light, take a different approach & was exactly the support we needed to continue our breastfeeding journey. We are still extremely grateful. Highly recommended.” ~ Luci, Weston-super-Mare
“I just wanted to thank Jennie for all her breastfeeding support firstly with my daughter now aged 3 who with her help I continue to feed, and now with my son who is only a week old. If it wasn’t for her knowledge and expertise, answering my desperate pleas, I don’t know what I’d of done. Jennie is able to answer questions directly & sign post you to websites and other professionals where needed. I highly recommend Jennie and Liminal Being Holistic Birth Services. Kate xx”
